The current contract between Beating the Blues and Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora concludes on 30 June 2026. At this stage, there will be a planned disruption to the service while future arrangements are determined.
A service disruption means that Beating the Blues will no longer be available after 30 June 2026. Users will not be able to log in or continue the programme beyond this date.
Patients will be able to access Beating the Blues until 30 June 2026. After this date, the platform will no longer be available.
Patients should be:
- Encouraged to complete their programme by 30 June 2026
- Advised that access will end after this date
- Provided with alternative support options if needed
Patients will lose access to the platform after 30 June 2026, even if they have not completed the programme. Staff and providers should:
- Encourage early completion where possible
- Support transition to alternative care options if needed
No extensions or exceptions are planned. All access to Beating the Blues will cease on 30 June 2026.
Patients should be directed to:
- 1737 – Need to talk? Free call or text, 24/7
- Their GP or primary care provider
- Emergency services on 111 if there is immediate risk of harm
Providers should:
- Encourage existing patients to complete their programmes before 30 June 2026
- Discuss ongoing support options with patients ahead of the closure date
If there are changes to service availability or future arrangements, updates will be shared through appropriate channels.
